Homocysteine-lowering by B vitamins slows the rate of accelerated brain atrophy in mild cognitive impairment
The VITACOG trial found that B6, folate and B12 — the methylation trio — slowed brain shrinkage in older adults with raised homocysteine.

An independent summary of published ingredient research, not the original paper or a clinical study of CORE49.
What the research found
VITACOG studied older adults with mild cognitive impairment over two years. B-vitamin supplementation lowered homocysteine and was associated with a slower rate of brain atrophy, particularly among participants with higher baseline homocysteine.
The important context
Brain imaging was the key outcome, not a promise of improved memory or prevention of disease. The population and B-vitamin regimen limit how broadly the result can be applied.
Where CORE49 fits
This paper informs our understanding of an individual ingredient. It did not evaluate the finished CORE49 formula. Study populations, ingredient forms and amounts can differ from those in our daily drink; ingredient evidence and formula evidence are not interchangeable.
